The concept of this development will be to promote interaction among residents of the neighborhood by providing gathering areas for them. These gathering place have been conceived to be a barrier-free environment in a surrounding full of towering HDB blocks. Also, these areas were designed to not only be flexible in form but to be functional as well – to allow fun and diverse socially interactive activities in a community. Generally, the idea will be to create an exciting and unique urban environment that will be as self-sustaining and an enjoyable neighborhood to live in.
The site is bounded by Tampines Avenue 1, 4 and 5 and is in close proximity to the Tampines Business Park, MRT station and bus terminal. The junctions and bus stops will be celebrated with vibrant floor patterns and lush greens that can be coupled with tree-like sculptural canopies. These will give the neighborhood its a welcoming appeal.
The site with its proximity to the Town Centre and the existing urban landscape of the neighborhood has provided the inspiration of a main pathway that stretches over the site and branches out to other activity areas. These will lead residents and visitors to a fun, educational and exciting areas like the Cultural Hub, Graffiti walk, "Oblique", “91 Exchange”, Senior Citizen’s Corner, “The Arena”, “Green Belt”, Sensory Garden, Water Park and Maze Garden.
In addition, careful planning has been taken to ensure minimal uprooting or cutting down of trees. This resulted in a more free-flowing and fabric-like lay out that will run through the entire development making way finding a walk in the park, literally, and much more. More greenery, unique trellises or pergolas and tree-like sculptural canopies will be provided in specific areas of the development – giving more than added shade but a definite character. This will definitely be a place where residents will hopefully come together as a community and call it their own.
